Chapter Eligibility for Convention

Chapter Eligibility for Convention

Chairs,

At this moment these are the eligible voters for each chapter.  We will be using the traditional “one-chapter-one-vote.”  Only the chairs will be eligible to vote, unless you submit a proxy form (attached).  For election purposes I will not accept proxies to other chapters or to executive board members.  Your chapter’s election vote can only be proxied to another board member from your own chapter.  You may proxy your vote for all other business (amendments etc) to other board members. I just feel that precedent should be set that election votes should be cast from the chapter.

I have broken the chapters up by region.  You will vote by region for the Regional Vice Chair positions (obviously).  As you have your chapter elections, please notify me. We will NOT permit someone else to show up and vote (unless they’re your rightful proxy as previously stated) just because they claim they are chair.

Several chapters on our email distribution list, including Ramapo, have been removed from good standing.  Anyone who believes they should be eligible voters, please feel free to appeal to me.  I will bring the issue to the executive committee.
Remember, you MUST correct this record as new chairs are elected.  If you do not, not only will your email be receiving NJCR emails long after graduation, but your chapter will not be permitted to vote and will likely receive NO information from us.  Our official record is what we use to contact chapters, and the list above IS our official record.
It cannot be stressed enough how important it is to correct this list, failure to update chapter contacts is how chapters die out.
I look forward to seeing you April 30th.  Final speakers and agenda will be coming soon.
